Pico Lunar Merlot 2016
Wine with character but elegant, powerful but balanced
Viticulture and vinification:
The harvest is carried out manually at the end of October, in 12 Kg boxes, with a double selection of bunch, both in the vineyard and in the winery.
The 15-day alcoholic fermentation and maceration took place in open 225-liter oak barrels with little extraction.
The Malolactic Fermentation and the aging, in a used barrel of 225 liters of medium roasting, has lasted 10 months
Cherry red color, purple trim.
On the nose, rich in floral intensity and fruity on a background of sweet spices and cocoa.
In the mouth, pleasant, silky, balanced, intense, persistent, berries, balsamic and cocoa.
Bewteen 12ºC – 16ºC
To accompany this wine, the best are the powerful and tasty dishes. Fish with a high fat content such as salmon or tuna are perfect for this wine, full-bodied and tasty rices, red or game meats, and strong cheeses such as blue, cheddar or cured manchego.
