Vernatxa is a wine that speaks of the identity of the varietal: White Grenache (also called Vernatxa), the grape responsible for some of the most silky and expressive white wines in the Mediterranean. The grapes come from one of the oldest vines that Celler Frisach owns in the small town of Corbera d'Ebre
Viticulture and Vinification:
With this wine we want to recover a way of making ancestral wines in Terra Alta, the brisats wines. Harvesting with boxes, once the grapes have been selected, manually and very carefully, they are placed in the tank to carry out the joint fermentation of the must with the skins, in order to extract the purest essence of the variety. Once the fermentation has finished, the bleeding of the wine is introduced into 500L oak barrels for a 6-month aging, where this variety that has endured over time has just been domesticated and delicately polished. A wine that has not been filtered, clarified or stabilized, a pure Grenache.
Tasting notes:
Pale yellow with golden highlights. The nose is of good intensity, fresh and very varietal notes of white fruit, tropical fruit, citrus notes, hints of aniseed and minerality. In the mouth it is fresh, light, fruity, good acidity, elegant and structured way, light sour and medium-length finish. Light and fresh wine, good expression of Garnacha.
